Visitor Tips for Makkah
Essential information for a smooth and spiritually fulfilling stay.
Tawaf & Sa'i
Ground-floor Mataf is busiest. Upper floors and the rooftop are calmer for Tawaf during peak hours and for those with limited mobility.
Walking Distance
Clock Tower hotels sit at the Haram gates. Budget options in Aziziyah or Misfalah are 1–3 km away with frequent shuttles.
Best Season
November to February is cooler (20–30°C). Summer and Hajj season bring intense heat above 45°C — hydrate and plan around prayer times.
Airport to Hotel
Jeddah Airport (JED) is about 90 km from the Haram — roughly 1h 15m by car. Non-Muslims cannot enter Makkah city.
Crowd Awareness
During Ramadan and Hajj the Haram is extremely crowded. Keep group meeting points, stay hydrated, and follow crowd-flow guidance.
Connectivity
STC, Mobily, and Zain offer 5G across Makkah and the Hajj sites. Activate an Airalo eSIM before departure for instant data.
